Shop fits and contractors

• At design stage we emphasise to incoming tenants to give consideration for replacement lighting and, if applicable, food preparation appliances
• Building materials items such as timber, MDF & plastic products are mainly manufactured by suppliers with NCZ in mind
• We work with Shop Fit Contractors to segregate their waste for recycling, as opposed to sending to landfill
• We encourage the use of re-usable hoardings by shop fit contractors.
• We ask that contractors, where possible, only use battery operated power tools

Printing

We use trackforce, an app which gives us the ability to make our cleaning and security department 100% paperless. This app allows our teams to manage fault logging, accident reports, customer feedback and complete H&S tours. This system allows real time reporting and instant modification straight from either Android or iPhone.

Customer communications

• We have introduced an app to communicate with our retail partners, completely eliminating the need for paper memos.
• We have transitioned away from promotional A-frames and replaced them with energy-efficient digital screens, which lessens the necessity for printing paper.
• We have moved away from using paper visitor cards for contractors and guests to a digital sign-in tablet.

Cleaning consumables

Our cleaning consumables supplier, Bunzl, holds a distinctive position in the supply chain, allowing them to offer us reliable and expert guidance. Since they are not tied to any particular materials or products, they can deliver an unbiased perspective on the most effective solutions for every challenge through:

• Dedicated teams of plastics and sustainability experts
• Training programmes to proactively help us understand our sustainability challenges
• Providing the data we need to participate in external schemes and report against our targets
• Supporting us to help strengthen recycling and reuse systems to secure end of life options for their products

We have also begun utilizing chemical hoses instead of purchasing spray bottles, reducing plastic as well as has helped reduce water consumption.

Uniforms

Uniform Express, our centre staff uniform supplier, have initiatives in place to address each stage of the life cycle of their garments. Our soft services partner, Bidvest Noonan (UK), have started working with them on the disposal of uniforms as a priority and will kick off more initiatives as part of their 2023 Scope 3 carbon reduction plan.
